$1.3 Million City Endowment for the Arts Awards Announced
( Stockton, CA) – In a continuing effort to help build Stockton’s art and performance community, the Stockton Arts Commission has chosen five organizations and one individual to receive the City’s $1.3 million City Endowment for the Arts Award.
Dance for Power, Delta Center for the Arts, Friends of Chamber Music, The Stockton Symphony and the Stockton Theatre Project, along with documentary film producer, Sophoan Sorn, were picked because of their vision and impact in bringing culture and entertainment to the City of Stockton.
Each will collectively receive $44,985.00 for their respective projects. The $1.3 million City Endowment for the Arts was established by the Council in 2001 for arts funding. The panel chose the winners from more than a dozen arts organizations and individuals who applied for the grant.
The
checks will be awarded to the winners at the Stockton City
Council meeting by Chair person Carole Gilbertson on June
